High-profile matchups against Gonzaga, Arkansas, Virginia and either UCLA or Illinois underscored the Baylor men’s non-conference basketball schedule released Tuesday.
The December 2 Baylor-Gonzaga game at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, SD is a replay of the 2021 national title game, which the Bears won 86-70. The matchup between the Bears and the Bulldogs features the only two teams to have ranked No. 1 nationally in each of the last three seasons.
The Bears will take to the streets for the first time as part of the Continental Tire Main Event, which will be held November 18-20 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The Bears play 2019 national champions Virginia on November 18 before taking on Illinois or UCLA in game two on November 20.
Baylor plays Arkansas in the SEC/Big Challenge on Jan. 28 at the Ferrell Center.

The Bears open the season with three home games, starting with Mississippi Valley State at 11 a.m. Nov. 7, followed by Norfolk State at 7 p.m. Nov. 11 and Northern Colorado at 7 p.m. Nov. 14. Baylor defeated Norfolk State, 85-49, in the opening round of last season’s NCAA tournament.
After playing in Las Vegas, Baylor returns home to play McNeese State on November 23 at 3 p.m. Baylor will quickly be back on track to play Marquette on November 29th in Milwaukee.
The Bears host Tarleton State on December 6, Alcorn State on December 20, and Nicholls State on December 28, with all three games starting at 7 p.m. Baylor meets Washington State pm on December 18 at 9 a.m. at the American Airlines Center in Dallas
