In a recent interview, the popular preacher explained how Affleck and Lopez only paid $75 for their wedding while taking care of him on the side.
Talking to producer Eddie von The Bobby Bones Show, the clerk at The Little White Chapel was asked if he was tempted to raise prices. Considering that Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are getting married, the temptation was definitely there. Although Ryan Wolfe, as he explained, only gave them the standard price; got an unspecified but decent tip:
I wish man. I do it with pleasure. We only have a regular base price. They paid $75 for the chapel and they ended up taking care of me, tipping me. … I’m telling you, it was less than a few thousand.
This was apparently the only radio interview Wolfe gave, although it isn’t only Interview, as producer Eddie initially believed. We’ve definitely seen other quotes from the actual pastor, whose performance at the famous Las Vegas landmark is a side hustle when not tending to his congregation. As he said in the past Ryan Wolfe believes Bennifer 2.0 will lastand reiterated this while discussing the ceremony.
Speaking of which, it’s a good thing that Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez typed Pastor Wolfe as well as they did. Although we knew that another couple waited with the celebrity couple Apparently, to get their turn at the holy wedding ceremony, Affleck and Lopez got to the little white chapel until the end. We had no idea they were coming in, we were actually about to close. I had just finished like the fifth wedding at 9pm and it was just me and our coordinator. That was all there was. I saw an Escalade pull up. At first I didn’t really recognize them, they walked through, they walked in, and I was like, ‘Man, I know them. I know you. I know you!’ And then I put together who they were and they said, ‘Do you have time to do another one?’ And I said, ‘Uh, yeah. We can do one more.’
On the one hand, it sucks when someone walks in at the end of your shift. However, if they’re polite, it’s easy to make the decision that Ryan Wolfe made. To take the situation a step further, when it’s Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez asking you if you have time for one last wedding, you can probably bet that something inside you will say “yes” without question. That is, if you can spot them in time to make the decision.
While Wolfe didn’t increase the price or make any ridiculous demands on the Hollywood power couple, he did have a simple request. It’s pretty much what you’d expect when he asked if he could take a selfie with Lopez and Affleck after the service. But to seal the deal, Ryan Wolfe laid out his request with some very specific caveats:
I asked her. I said, ‘Hey, can we take a picture? I know you don’t want any pictures or videos and I respect that. But would you take a picture with your phone, a selfie with your phone, and send it to me after the news comes out and you’re legally married?’ By the way, I’m still waiting for the picture.
It’s a shame Ryan Wolfe doesn’t have this photo, especially since the cat is officially out of the bag at this point. Even though Lopez and Affleck are Planning a second ceremony, and it would be fitting if they invited the man who made it all possible as a guest. Maybe then Wolfe can get a copy of his picture, but who really knows? At least the man has a story to tell and an eager audience willing to listen; that’s what every good pastor hopes for weekly.
